PROFILE OF THE BAKERY
History
At around 1930 Mr. Costas Kapitanis with the help of his wife Paraskevi had started their own bakery. The first shop was located in the area around Saint Lazarous Church in Larnaca. In 1936 they moved to another bigger and nicer bakery at Zenonos Kitieos Street.
Around 1955-1956 his older son Takis with his wife Ourania took over the business. In 1972 the bakery pioneers and makes its first triangular cheesepies. In 1977 more products like flaounes, kourambiedes, sliced bread, cookies and much more were added to the shelves of the bakery.
In 1990 the elder son of the family Yiannos Kapitanis with his wife Rea came back from the USA after finishing their university studies. In 1991 they took over the management of the bakery and a complete renovation of the bakery took place.
To follow with the new trends more and more products were added to the bakery's product collection.
Today, Kapitanis Bakery is a family owned bakery and is managed by the only daughter of the family Tasoula with her husband Pavlos.
